(SPOT.ph) Aurora province in the eastern part of Luzon is now one of the top destinations in the Philippines. Baler, its capital, is the most popular because of the surf spots along Sabang Beach and Cemento Reef, coves and islets in Diguisit Bay, and historical landmarks in the town proper. With all these tourist sights, the place tends to become crowded especially in the months of April and May.

Luckily, an hour-and-a-half away from Baler is a hidden white-sand paradise that’s just waiting to be discovered. Sand and Stars in Barangay Dinadiawan in Dipaculao has everything you need if you’re in need of some peace and quiet. Waves may not be for surfing, but the beach is perfect for sleeping under the stars—thus the name.

The resort’s latest feature is the glamping tent (P1,300-P1,500/night), which includes an overnight stay for up to four people, beach access, breakfast, welcome drinks, and use of grill and cooking ware. You don’t even have to worry about going ala-Survivor because the tent has beds, pillows, a solar-powered lamp, a rechargeable fan, and electric sockets for charging. There’s even a communal (and colorful) toilet and bath. Talk about camping in style!
Sand and Stars is in Dinadiawan, Dipaculao, Aurora. To get there, you have to take a bus from Manila going to Baler (five to six hours), then another bus or a van to Dinadiawan (1.5 hours). For more information, visit Sand and Stars on Facebook.
